Local artist uses theater to connect Hmong elders with youth

As Minnesota’s Hmong populations’ original immigrants begin to pass away, younger generations are trying to record those immigrants’ stories and experiences of coming to the U.S.

One artist, May Lee-Yang, is helping to record and tell those stories through theatrical performances.

She wrote a comedy, called “Poj Laib Laus (pronounced pah-lie-lao)” or “Old Gangster Ladies.”
